Jharkhand Board 10th, 12th Exam Scheme 2026 Revised: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced a new exam pattern for class 10 and 12 board exams starting from the 2025-26 academic year. This aims to make exams more focused on understanding, application, and real-life skills rather than memorizing textbook answers.

Under the new system, the exams will follow a 30-50-20 structure:

  • 30% Objective Questions: Multiple-choice questions to test basic concepts.
  • 50% subjective questions: short and long answers, but these will now test how well the student can apply what they have learned, solve problems, and think logically.
  • 20% Internal/Practical Assessment: Projects, practical work or other activities undertaken during the year will also count towards at final marks.

The change is part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to build students' critical thinking, creativity, and real-world understanding. Teachers will get training to adjust their teaching methods, and schools are expected to include more project work, hands-on learning, and application-based exercises in their classrooms.

For students, this means that simply memorizing answers may no longer be enough. They need to focus on understanding concepts deeply, practicing different types of questions, and staying consistent with classwork and internal assessments.

Education experts have welcomed this move, saying it will help Jharkhand students compete better in national-level exams and prepare for higher studies more effectively.

Overall, the JAC’s new scheme is designed to make education more meaningful, reduce stress from rote learning, and help students build essential skills for future academic and professional success.
