Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad seeks to increase its fee for some of the courses for 2019- 20 academic year. The fee revision takes place every three years at JNTU.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad is planning to increase the fees for various programmes offered by its constituent colleges.
JNTU Hyderabad has constituent colleges in Hyderabad, Manthani, Sultanpur and Jagityal and also Institute of Science and Technology, School of Management Studies, School of Information Technology, as well as School of Continuing and Distance Education. The university conducts a fee revision every three years for the professional courses. The previous revision was conducted for the academic year of 2016-17 and currently, the fee revision needs to take place for the academic year of 2019-20 which will stay for the next three years.

As of now, the fees for the B.Tech course is Rs.10,000 (approx) at JNTU. Whereas, the fee for M.Tech in JNTU is about Rs.15,000 (approx). One of the senior officials of JNTU informed the fee structure was defined a long time ago and was comparatively cheaper than their private competitors in engineering who were charging more than double the price of JNTU engineering colleges.

One of the other officials claims that the revision of fee was required for developmental projects and for increasing and improving the facilities that were provided by the university A proposal has been sent to the AFRC (Admission Fee Regulatory Committee) and they are currently waiting for a reply from them. A total of 1070 colleges have applied for the change in the fee structure of their courses which include 170 colleges/institutions for Engineering.
