The Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University Kakinada hosted its 7th Convocation ceremony on Saturday, 17 August 2019, where the graduating students were honoured with their degrees for successful completion of their course. The Chief Guest for the occassion was Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswabushan Harichandan. During his speech at the varsity’s convocation ceremony, he emphasized the importance of producing remarkable and “knowledgeable technocrats” for the betterment of society.
The AP Governor Harichandan went on to state that every technological institute is to produce graduates with the skills and the knowledge that match the current needs of the industry. He pressed on the fact that it is imperative that development takes place, especially in this time of science and technology.
During his speech, he mentioned the various paths that can be opted by the passing students. He stated that while the more common choice is to pursue a career right after completing their graduate studies, there are options to pursue further studies as well. He also made it known that the various activities that have been undertaken by the Government of India, such as the Digital India Movement, Start-up India, Make-in-India as well as the Skill India movements are all in favour of those who wish to start their own ventures, which will help in developing India to becoming one of the global competitors.

An Alumnus as well as the former MD of BHEL, B Prasada Rao had been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the state governor Harichandan. Rao also gave his bit of advice as well to the graduating students, asking them to pursue their goals with a lot of dedication as well as determination.

With the 7th convocation ceremony of JNTU Kakinada completed and another batch of engineers graduating from another premier technical institute, the students will now have to take the next step. This can vary from pursuing higher education or start with developing their career. Some can choose to pursue their dream or open up a business venture, which can further contribute to the development of India.
