The admission process for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs under Round 5 seat allotment concluded on July 17, 2017. Now, Joint Seat Allocation Authority or JoSAA has declared the Round 6 seat allotment results that are available on the official website of JoSAA. Candidates can check the sixth round seat allotment by visiting the official website. The candidates must enter the JEE Roll Number and Password to check the seat allotment status.
According to an official data of JoSAA, around 421 seats remained vacant in various National Institutes of Technology, Government Funded Technical Institutes and Indian Institutes of Information Technology after the fifth round of seat allotment. However, the only seat that remained vacant under ST category was at Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar. The seat has been vacant since the third round and it may not be filled as any of the qualified students are eligible.

Round 6 is the last chance for the students who wish to withdraw their seat as JoSAA will not allow the candidates to withdraw the seat in the seventh round. This year, the authorities are likely to fill all the seats without leaving any seat vacant. Depending on the number of vacant seats available, JoSAA will announce the Round 7 seat allotment on July 21, 2017.

Students who secured a seat in NITs or GFTIs or IIITs can confirm their admission by paying the seat acceptance fee on or before July 20, 2017. Candidates who fail to confirm the seat by July 20, 2017, will not have any right on the allotted seat.
