What to Do After KCET 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment?
After downloading the allotment order, candidates must choose one of the four options provided by KEA. Selecting the correct option is mandatory to continue in the counselling process.
Choice 1: Accept & Freeze (Satisfied)
Select this if you are completely satisfied with your allotted college and branch. You choose to pay the prescription fee online, download your official admission order, and report directly to the college. You exit future rounds.
Choice 2: Accept & Upgrade (Hold & Float)
Select this if you accept your current seat but want to participate in Round 2 for higher preference options. Your Round 1 seat remains completely safe; if you get an upgrade later, the old seat transfers out. If no upgrade occurs, you keep this seat.
Choice 3: Reject & Upgrade (Float Only)
Select this if you are dissatisfied with your allotted seat but wish to remain in the counselling pool for higher options. By choosing this, you completely surrender your current seat back to the pool, betting entirely on Round 2 availability.
Choice 4: Reject & Quit (Exit Ecosystem)
Select this if you have secured admission elsewhere (like JoSAA or COMEDK) and no longer wish to be considered for any seats in the KEA system. Your seat is immediately vacated for waitlisted rankers.
