The state of Maharashtra witnessed the formation of the state’s first Cluster University under the alias of Dr Homi Bhabha State University (HBSU). The first cluster university included four colleges that were earlier affiliated to Mumbai University. Now, the state will witness the formulation of the second cluster university, Hyderabad Sinf National Collegiate (HSNC).
As per sources, the Bombay Teachers’ Training College Colaba, KC College Churchgate and HR College will be joining hands to form the Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate. The three colleges had earlier been affiliated to the University of Mumbai. This year, four other colleges affiliated to Mumbai University formed the Dr Homi Bhabha State University which includes Elphinstone College, Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Institute of Science and Secondary Training College.

As per the official notice, Maharashtra second cluster university will commence its operations as a de-affiliated set of colleges from Mumbai University. Furthermore, the colleges will now be following their own set of rules and regulations, different from MU, wherein the academic and admission schedule along with the exam pattern evaluation will be according to the guidelines of the Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate.

A Spokesperson from HSNC, while talking to the media stated that since the decision came into action after more than half the first semester is completed, the new changes will be brought in the second semester. The spokesperson added that the second and third-year students pursuing different programmes from the college will be receiving their degrees from Mumbai University. However, those who took admission this year to the different courses at the colleges will be receiving their degree under HSNC.
