Mahatma Gandhi University will be starting five new courses from the upcoming academic session of 2019-2020. The Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Khanza Althaf Hussain, made an announcement about five different new courses to be started from the academic year 2019-2020.
The Vice-Chancellor addressed the media in his chambers on 13th June 2019, Thursday. He made the announcement of the introduction of the five new courses officially and said that the university will run new programmes in Masters in Education (M.Ed), Masters in Physical Education (M.P.Ed), Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Developmental Studies, Masters in Arts (M.A.) in Telugu, and a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in History and Tourism.
This step of adding new subjects in the already existing postgraduate courses has been done in the interest of students so that they can get the opportunity of pursuing the courses they like.
Apart from stating these five postgraduate courses, Mahatma Gandhi University will also start certificate and diploma courses in Skill Development. Khanza Althaf Hussain said that the university will start these courses of diploma and certificate level at the Skill Development Centre that will be started with the help of the Ministry of Industries, industrialists, and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) in the district.
The Vice-Chancellor also informed that the classes will be starting from 17th June 2019, Monday. The colleges will have to follow the biometric system for recording the attendance of students. He also told that the process has been initiated to fill the vacant positions of 34 professors.
