MBA in Marketing vs MBA in Digital Marketing

MBA in Marketing is one of the oldest disciplines of an MBA course. In fact, Marketing is one of the basic aspects of any management programme, be it BBA, MBA or PGDM. Students enrolled in any discipline of any of these courses have to study Marketing as a subject in one form or the other.

Marketing is a very interesting field in itself and attracts creative individuals who have a knack for story-telling and innovation. It is also a fiercely competitive field as the health and success of businesses depends on how good they are at reaching their customers and convincing them to buy their product.

On the other hand, Digital Marketing cannot be said to be a traditional discipline of an MBA degree. It is a new-age course that has gathered steam only after the advancement of the internet era. However, since businesses are increasingly turning to the internet to reach out and advertise to their customers, Digital Marketing has become one of the most valuable management courses today.

A Digital Marketer is required to help a company or brand reach out to potential customers and increase their presence and brand value, much like a Marketing professional. However, the tools used by a Digital Marketing expert to achieve this are entirely different and require a different set of skills and training.
