First National Moot Court Competition to be held at Bennett University

National Moot Court competition for hypothetical case fighting of law students is going to be held at Bennett University, Noida. Great response has been received by the University as students’ groups enrol from all over the nation.

First National Moot Court Competition to be held at Bennett University

The Bennet University National Moot Court Competition (BNMCC) 2019 is going to be held from 29th March 2019 at the university campus situated in Noida. The university has said this is the first of this kind of national Moot Court competition being organised in Bennet University Campus.

Moot Court generally refers to a hypothetical court-room where law students debate on hypothetical cases for practice. Moot courts can be called a simulation of the real-world court consequences and practices.

The three-day Moot Court competition in Bennet University is expected to run till 31st March 2019 from 31st March.

The interdisciplinary theme of Law and Technology is the topic set up for the Moot Court discussions. The Moot court competition in Bennett University will discuss the virtual privacy rights for the citizens and the steps taken by the government to secure internet privacy of a citizen using Artificial Intelligence and Drones. It will also hold talks on India’s data encryption systems and criticism of government policies.

The aim of the competition is to raise awareness for the law being an interdisciplinary study. Also, it will throw light on how the profession has to keep up with the changes in technological and societal structures.

The first Bennett University National Moot Court Competition is receiving good feedback as more than 25 teams of law students have applied to enroll in the competition from across the country. Most of the teams that are enrolled in the competition belong from the top private and public law universities who promise to conduct a healthy debate communication in the Moot Court. Bennett University has fixed 40,000 rupees as the prize amount to the winning team.

Hon'ble Justice Dipak Misra, former Chief Justice of India who is famous for his judgments on decriminalizing homosexuality, Sabarimala verdict, Aadhar verdict will be present in the inaugural ceremony of the competition to present the keynote address. He also has some famous judgments in data privacy sectors.
