NIT Jalandhar Collaborates with University of Florence, Italy

  • MoU between NIT Jalandhar and University of Florence, Italy, will work towards an exchange programme in the field of Biotechnology & Processes Engineering. 
  • The collaboration also includes running joint courses, research projects, seminars etc.
NIT Jalandhar Collaborates with University of Florence, Italy

National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar has collaborated formally with the University of Florence, Italy and has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the same. It has been approved by the MHRD, headed by the Government of India.

The collaboration between the two institutions intends to establish an exchange programme in the area of Biotechnology and Processes Engineering for Biofuel Production. The MoU was signed between University of Florence's Departments of Agrifood Production and Environmental Sciences (DISPAA) and Department of Biotechnology (NIT) Jalandhar. They can also include other departments in the existing MoU.

Apart from the student exchange programme, the activities covered under the MoU are research collaborations, research exchange programmes, joint applications for funding and other academic programmes. NIT has other international collaborations as well and MoU with the University of Florence is a step forward as it will provide students with the opportunities of global exposure.

The collaboration between the two will promote seminar, conferences, lectures, workshops, training sessions, seminars and joint research projects in the field of common interest.

NIT Jalandhar is one of the top engineering colleges of the country. The institute is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and was founded in the year 1987. NIT Jalandhar offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programmes. To get admission into the undergraduate courses candidates need to clear the JEE Main and secure at least 75% marks in class 12 examination.
