No Plans to Revise Telangana SSC Timetable 2026; Government defends one month exam window
Telangana SSC Timetable 2026 Revision Update:
The recently released schedule for SSC examinations has sparked debate among parents, teachers, and student unions. As per the latest schedule, the Telangana SSC 2026 board exam will be held from March 14 to April 18, 2026. The timetable is set in a manner that there is approximately a 3 to 4-day gap between the exams. In response, the School Education Department of Telangana stated that the schedule was purposefully created after looking at national and international boards like CBSE and IB, arguing that longer intervals would give students the breathing space they need to revise effectively. This is the first time in Telangana that the SSC timetable features a three- to four-day gap between papers; up until now, students were used to just one day's break.
Director of School Education E Naveen Nicolas told the media, "We planned to change our SSC timetable pattern this year after a deep analysis of various boards, including CBSE, IB, and ICSE." These boards have been offering lengthy intervals between Class 10 exams for decades. We also asked students for their perspectives and spoke with a number of educators. We made a small adjustment to the SSC schedule in light of that. We are aware that it will take extra time, but it will be successful. Students will study more carefully and score better when there is a gap between exams.
In the meantime, members of the Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) filed a complaint with the School Education Department, arguing that the proposed schedule is much longer than previous years when exams were finished in a shorter, more manageable time frame. According to the association, students will undoubtedly experience stress and worry as a result of protracted preparation gaps, and schools will have operational challenges in managing staff, infrastructure, and logistics for an extended period of time. Several parents have expressed similar worries.
However, the Government has denied all proposals, and the chances for the revision of the SSC timetable is unlikely. Students are advised to prepare and plan their preparations accordingly for the 2026 board exams.
