Odisha: DHE Extends Degree Admission Date for 177 CBSE Students

Odisha: DHE Extends Degree Admission Date for 177 CBSE Students

Relieving 177 CBSE students from the nervousness, the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE), Odisha has extended the date for degree admissions for those whose cases are pending in the High Court. For this purpose, the DHE has issued an official letter stating that the admission to 177 CBSE students will be done in offline mode by June 21, 2017. The letter further directed the candidates to submit the Common Application Form along with the court order in the SAMS resource centre. The candidates can avail the Common Application Form from the resource centre only. The DHE has already begun the admission process for +2, and the second selection list will be released on June 22, 2017 (tentative).

DHE Odisha usually conducts e-admission process for degree and junior colleges. The objective of the state government is to ensure transparency in the process. The e-admission process also received a positive response from the students and parents earlier.

The letter also directed the students to submit the relevant documents in support of Class 12 result within two days once it is finalised. The students can upload the result related documents in the SAMS resource centre. The seat allotment to various degree colleges is based on merit and choice. Class 12 marks are the important criterion for the admission to degree colleges across the state.

Earlier, 200 Class 12 CBSE students from the state protested against the faulty evaluation of the board. Students and parents demanded the re-evaluation. However, CBSE decided to discontinue re-evaluations process this year.
