The PGP Food and Agri-Business Management (PGP-FABM) course offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has been ranked number one globally by a Paris-based ranking agency for the year 2017.
Eduniversal, France, is an agency that specialises in the analysis and ratings of higher education. IIM Ahmedabad has also made a press statement regarding the same saying that the PGP-FABM programme has been ranked number one in the world by the agency.
In the statement, the institute also added that the success of the programme is credited to Debjit Roy, Chairperson of the programme. The statement also mentioned how Roy turned the programme into a course that promotes cross-functional management exposure of students enrolling for the programme from diverse background such as agriculture, engineering, food sciences, biotech, etc.
Talking about the diversity, Roy added that it prepares the candidates to cope in the sector-focussed problem-solving environment and helps them in handling challenges effectively. He also added that the alumni of the institute who have pursued this course are playing a key role in devising policies of this sector.

The PGP-FABM programme offered by IIM Ahmedabad is a 2-year full-time residential programme that covers subjects like agriculture, food processing, rural infrastructure, commodities and rural development sector.

According to the information provided by the institute, 46 seats are offered in this programme every year and over 1,27,000 candidates compete for these seats.
