On 8th July 2019, Mr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister clearly informed that as of now there are no proposals to set up training centres for IIT aspirants who belong to the economically weaker sections of the society.
The Union Minister also went ahead and added that to help the students who want to prepare for the IIT entrance, the Government has launched a programme called SWAYAM. The full form for SWAYAM is Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds which has been initiated with the aim of providing interactive learning courses to the students. It can be considered to be a brilliant step towards the excellence in education which India as a nation wants to achieve. These courses comprise of contents in the form of video lectures and reading material. Apart from these, the students also have the scope to participate in quizzes, self-assessment tests etc.

The students who sign up for this programme are also given the provision to participate in discussion forums where they can clarify their doubts. These courses are available from Class 9 standard to the post graduation level. Once the students have successfully completed the course, they will be provided with the certificate. To obtain the certificate, students will have to deposit some amount.
