IIT Kharagpur has been named the top Indian institution by QS Employability Ranking. This is the second time in a row that the institute has been ranked on top. Another institute that figured in the list of top 100 universities in the world was the Indian institute of Technology Mumbai.
IIT-Kharagpur got placed in the 71-80 slot of the world rankings that is the highest position secured by any institution in India in the list of 200 universities from across the world.

IIT-Bombay was ranked right next to IIT Kharagpur. These are the only two institutions in India that have been ranked among the top 100 global institutions. IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras and University of Delhi have also been listed among the top 200 institutes of the world by QS Employability Ranking survey.
IIT-Kharagpur has been rated the top college in India as it has consistently been working to provide quality education and good placement opportunities to its students. Close to 2500 students graduate from the institute every year and are successfully placed through campus placement.
IIT-Kharagpur excelled in the survey and was ranked on the parameters such as graduate employability rate and employers' presence on the campus. Employer reputation, partnership with employers, and alumni outcomes were some other parameters basis which the institute was judged.
The top three universities in the QS Employability Ranking:
- Stanford University, US
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US
- Shinhwa University, China

International universities that were slotted with IIT-Kharagpur are Georgetown University, Pennsylvania State University, Lancaster University, University of Illinois, Queensland University of Technology, Chicago and University of Liverpool.
