Searches for Teaching Jobs in India Witnesses an Increase of 41%: Indeed

Teaching job searches increase

As per Indeed, the demand for teaching jobs in India has seen an increase of 41%. This hike has been made in the last three years itself and online teaching has contributed majorly to the increasing demand.

Indeed, the employment-related search engine giant for job listings, declared on 4th September 2019, Wednesday, that a significant boost has been witnessed in the demand for teaching jobs in India. Online tutoring has enhanced the demand for such teaching jobs and many candidates who wish to pursue a career as a teacher are trying new pathways that the profession has to offer. Indeed revealed that there has been a 41 per cent increase in the total number of job searches for teaching in the last three years.

A promising growth has been seen in the demand for teacher roled from the month of July in the year 2016 to July in the year 2019. The reason for this has been attributed to digital media and its constant development which has opened several avenues to new roles such as that of e-educators and online tutors.

The Managing Director of Indeed India, Mr. Sashi Kumar, said that it is promising to see that a hike of 41 per cent has been made in the past three years with respect to the demand for the position of a teacher. He said that the growth of online teaching and e-learning will only be helping in enhancing the growth of the teaching profession furthermore.

As per the data given by Indeed, the maximum growth observed in the searches for teaching jobs has been recorded from the year 2018 to the year 2019. An increase of 40 per cent in searches was recorded in this duration. The fiscal 2017-2018 witnessed an increase of 14 per cent in the total job seekers who were interested in these roles. Three years ago, from 2016 to 2017, the search for jobs in teaching roles saw a dip of 11 per cent.

The advancements in the field of e-learning and technology have led to the rise in the number of jobs of e-educators and online tutors. The new-age profession of online teaching has many perks and hence, it has become quite popular and in high demand among the group of individuals who wish to pursue teaching and have the required qualifications and academic record for it. While the average salary of a teacher in India is Rs. 2,19,804 per year and can go up to Rs. 5,88,000 annually, the average salary of an online tutor is in the range of Rs. 4,80,000 to Rs. 9,25,000 per annum.
