Sikh Minority Admissions at Delhi University 2018: Important Points to Remember

Mata Sundari College for Women, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College,Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College of Commerce are the four colleges of Delhi University that are maintained by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). It is a statutory body established under an act of the Parliament of India. NCMEI of India has granted these four colleges minority status which is ratified by the Honourable Delhi High Court.

50% of seats in these colleges are reserved for candidates belonging to the Sikh minority. However, students of Sikh minority families who are planning to take admission in one of these colleges are required to fill the University of Delhi common registration form and select the Sikh Minority Category to avail the benefit.

Important Instructions for Sikh Minority Applicants of Delhi University Colleges:

  • Candidates are required to save the receipt after payment as they will be required to submit the printed receipt along with other necessary certificates at the time of admission.
  • Candidates should keep in mind that their minority status will not be considered valid unless the form shows the selected category as ‘Sikh Minority Category’ during application scrutiny.
  • Candidates seeking admission under Sikh Minority Category must provide the colleges with minority certificate issued by DSGMC at the time of admission.
  • They will be required to follow up with the colleges regarding cutoffs, application fees, documents required, deadlines, eligibility etc.
  • Students can also refer to individual college websites for detailed information regarding colleges and admission procedure.
