State Cell Resolves MHT CET Engineering Portal Name Match Glitch; Candidates Can Now Upload JEE PercentilesMHT CET 2026 CAP Counselling: Bringing major relief to thousands of engineering aspirants across the country, the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra, has successfully resolved a technical glitch that blocked candidates from importing their JEE Main scores into the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) portal.
The issue arose following a new directive making DigiLocker verification mandatory for All India Candidature (AIC) applicants trying to sync their National Testing Agency (NTA) scorecards. Due to formatting variations and character mismatches between candidates' registered names on DigiLocker and their JEE Main certificates, the portal’s automated database script regularly threw fatal errors, preventing applicants from completing their BE and BTech application forms.
Official Notice from the Maharashtra CET Cell: "The technical discrepancy affecting the automatic retrieval of JEE Main percentile scores due to name mismatches via DigiLocker has been successfully addressed after coordination with the NTA. All affected candidates can now unlock and update their application profiles."
How to Retrieve and Upload JEE Main Percentile
Candidates who were previously unable to fetch their JEE Main scores can now follow these steps:
- Visit the official Maharashtra Engineering CAP portal, cetcell.mahacet.org .
- Log in using your registered credentials.
- Navigate to the JEE Main percentile retrieval section.
- Fetch the JEE Main 2026 percentile through the integrated DigiLocker facility.
- Verify that the retrieved details match your JEE Main scorecard.
- Complete the remaining application details and submit the CAP registration before the deadline.
Candidates who have already submitted their applications but require corrections can use the application unlocking facility, if applicable, to update their information and complete the registration process.
Deadline for Registration Has Been Postponed to July 16
In order to prevent any eligible candidate from losing out on admission due to the technical glitch, the State CET Cell has postponed the deadline for registering on the CAP portal till July 16, 2026. In the meantime, verification of documents and validation of applications will keep going on till July 17 (5 PM). According to the new counseling schedule, the Final Merit List for MHT CET CAP Engineering 2026 will be released on July 24, followed by the process of choice filling and seat allocation.
The CET Cell has advised candidates to carefully verify that their name, date of birth, and other personal details are consistent across the JEE Main scorecard, DigiLocker records, and CAP application. Any mismatch may delay document verification or merit list preparation.
