Technical Glitch Affects DU Admissions for 30 Hours
The DU admission process for the vacant seats after the fifth cut-off list has been halted for 30 hours due to a technical problem. The candidates who registered for DU admissions 2016 were to be offered fresh application option for the vacant seats till 26-July-2016. The application window was supposed to open on 24-July-2016. Due to a technical problem, the application window opened at 3.00 PM on 25-July-2016.

The university has introduced online admissions for the first time. The first phase of counselling also faced technical issues and led to delay in the counselling.
Deputy Dean of Student's Welfare, Mr. Gurpreet Singh mentioned that the technical issue has occurred due to a misconception between admission committee and admission portal committee. The technical issues have been fixed and the process of admission is going on in a brisk phase. The pre-registered candidates for DU admissions can register for vacant seats now.
Some of the officials mentioned that these type of technical issues are common in the process of admission. They mentioned that from the next year the online admissions of DU will be conducted more effectively.
The counselling is being conducted for the past one month to fill up 54,000 UG seats at various DU Colleges. There are 77 colleges which are affiliated to Delhi University. All most all the seats are filled in all the colleges and some of the colleges have come up with their own merit list to fill up the vacant seats.
