Telangana SSC and Inter Board Merger on CardsTelangana SSC and Inter Board Merger on Cards: Major changes are set to take place in the state’s school education system. Until now, the SSC Board handled Class 10 and the Intermediate Board managed Class 12. However, the state government, under its Telangana Rising Vision 2047, has announced that both boards will be merged to form a single authority called the Telangana School Education Board (TGSEB) . The central government has also been asking the state for several years why two separate boards are being maintained.
Recently, Union Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar stated that only six states in the country still operate with separate boards. Following this, the state government has moved forward with the idea of establishing a single board. In addition, a new body called the Telangana School Standards Authority (TGSSA) will be created to oversee academic standards, school quality, and recognition for all types of schools. Changes are also expected in the examination pattern and in the way students’ learning abilities are assessed.
- If multiple schools are operating on the same campus or at the same location, they will be merged into a single institution and managed by one Headmaster.
- Pre-primary classes will be introduced in all schools in phases. The government will also ensure that each school has an adequate number of teachers.
- Vocational education will be integrated from the school level itself. Subjects like coding, computational thinking, and age-appropriate AI awareness will be added to the curriculum.
- A stronger CSR system will be put in place. The government will build networks with people from the state living across the world and encourage them to contribute to the development of schools.
- Three government DIET colleges will be transformed into academic hubs. As pre-primary classes are being added, new training programs will be introduced for both fresh teacher trainees and in-service teachers.
- IFS schools will be upgraded into well-equipped public facilities, and their management will be assigned to the respective school complexes.
