Thiruvalluvar University published the semester examinations result on 7th February 2018 for the exams conducted in November-December 2017. K Murugan, Vice Chancellor while announcing the publishing of the results stated that a total of 1,45,389 students appeared in the examination. Out of these, 1,31,623 were UG students, 13,616 students were postgraduate students and remaining 150 students were from M.Phil programme.

The evaluation of the examination was done by duly appointed examiners in eight approved examination centres which also included the university campus. To ensure an error-free examination process, it was automated and customised optical mark recognition-OMR sheets were used for each student.

Out of 1,31,623 students of undergraduate courses, 48,796 students have cleared the semester examination while 7,437 postgraduate cleared the exam. As per the sources, 234 PG and 941 UG candidates have secured cent percent marks in the exams. B. Senthil Kumar, Controller of Examination mentioned that the university will send the results to the colleges by mail so that students can check their results on Thursday (8th February 2018). A total of 124 colleges affiliated to the Thiruvalluvar University had registered for the examinations.
Candidates who are unsatisfied with the results and want to re-evaluate their answer scripts can apply online for the same with the help of the college’s principle and institution. The last date to apply for the revaluation is 16th February 2018.
