The authority has provided the TNEA random number for breaking the tie between two or more candidates. More specifically, if the tie cannot be broken even after applying the tie-breaking rules, then the TNEA random number will be considered for the same. As per the rules, the candidates with higher TNEA random numbers will get more privileges and will be ranked higher in the merit list. While filling in the choices, the candidates should follow the dual-step process for getting a confirmed seat:
- At first, the system will check whether the choice is available under open competition (315 reservation) using the overall rank. If the cutoff is high, then the students from any community can claim an OC seat.
- If the OC seats are already full, then the community will shift to the community rank, especially for the high-demand colleges.

Can I get a full fee exemption for College Admission?
If the candidates can secure a seat in any branches of the Government colleges (that is under 7.5% reservation), then the tuition fees will be completely waived off. Also, the counselling fees and hostel fees, along with the admission fees, will be paid by the government. Only the candidates need to submit the school study details (from class 6 to 12) as the relevant proof.

As per the seat reservation percentage, 31% seats in the colleges are allotted for the open category candidates; whereas the seat reservation percentages for the BC, SC, and ST categories are 26.5%, 15%, and 1%, respectively. The rest of the seats are allotted for the following categories:
