Delhi University Cutoff Explained

While you may be eager to examine the DU cut off data, let us first define DU cutoff and the process that is used to calculate the Delhi University cut-off for UG admissions. The Delhi University cut-off marks are determined by taking the best four marks of the students in the qualifying examination or the 12th Class. The DU cut off, or benchmark or threshold, is the standard or level on which admissions to the majority of undergraduate programmes across the DU colleges are offered. This benchmark (minimum score) relates to the minimal percentage marks that a candidate must obtain in order to be admitted to a specific course or college. No candidates will be considered for admission if they do not meet the minimal requirements for admission or the DU cut off marks. In other words, the applicant will be deemed ineligible for admission if their scores fall below the DU cutoff.

Factors That Influence DU Cutoff

Factors Influencing the DU Cutoff are listed below:

  • The best four marks in the 12th/qualifying examination
  • Total number of admission seats available
  • Candidate classification
  • A candidate's choice of course or college
  • Cut-off points from the previous year
