The chair professors have to involve in teaching or co-teaching of graduate and undergraduate courses. They need to play a significant role in assisting the students. For example, if a chair professor offers a course for two weeks, it may be continued by the faculty of the institute in order to pursue the completion of the course.
An advisory committee consisting of Dr. Rajaraman, Prof. Jeff Ullman (Stanford) and Prof. Randy Katz (UC-Berkeley) has been constituted for the selection of the chair professors. They will also take care of the ongoing review and assessment process, when in charge.
