The Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel attended the convocation ceremony of the Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology Gorakhpur. During the ceremony on Thursday 22nd August 2019, the Governor announced that each and every University in the state of Uttar Pradesh will be adopting 5 villages, meanwhile, the colleges in the state will adopt one village each. This activity will help in the development of these villages.
The model of adopting villages was adopted in M.P. and Gujarat and the results are satisfactory.
She revealed that the Vice-Chancellors of the different institutions will be provided with a blueprint on the methods and steps that need to be undertaken in the villages. Shes stated that with the combined efforts of all the educational institutions of the state, the image of Uttar Pradesh will change in the span of five years.
Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh urged the students to undertake an enthusiastic and active role in facilitating the progress of society. He stated that the students must also take the necessary steps for the same instead of setting a career path after the completion of the education.
CM Yogi Adityanath stated that engineering students must use their knowledge and skill in developmental activities such as the successful application of ‘Har Ghar Nal” scheme which is aimed at providing Indian households with drinking water by the year 2024.
He also urged the Engineering and Technological institutes to take the necessary steps to facilitate the development of society. He added that they must take the steps to control pollution as well as coming up with ideas through their experience that could help in the construction of affordable accommodation for the disadvantaged families.

The Chief Minister mentioned the need for technological institutions to take up the necessary actions along with the importance of the proper application of technology. Stating that these steps have helped the government in their previous ventures. Ventures such as linking the ration cards with the Aadhar Card along with the installation of the electronic point of sale or E-pos machines at various ration shops.

The step taken by the Government of Uttar Pradesh will ensure that the villages in the state will be part of the development process of India. With educational institutions undertaking the activities that will be laid down by the government, the students, as well as the faculty, will be able to gain further experience and also use their knowledge of their field to the betterment of the society.
