With an objective to create future space scientists and technologists, Veltech University has announced the Society for Small Satellite Systems (4S). It is a platform to make significant contributions in the field of Space Technology.
On this occasion, K. Kishore, Vice-President of Veltech University revealed that the 4S would bring industrialists, professors, researchers, scientists and students from various institutions together to hold discussions leading to the emergence of future systems in the field of Space Technology.

He further explained that the varsity is also planning to carry out research projects in Small Satellite Systems. The varsity will also soon introduce various courses relevant to Space and Satellite Applications.
D.A.V. Raghava Murthy, Director of Aerospace Research Centre, Veltech University explained that there is a broad scope for the satellites in the areas of direct applications which include disaster management, urban planning, hydrology, geology, forestry, agriculture and much more. He hailed ISRO for launching 104 satellites into space and for creating a world record and hoped that India would achieve greater heights in the field of Space Technologies in the coming years.

V. Koteswara Rao, the Former Scientific Secretary at ISRO, explained that through the forum, all the resources would be brought together, and training will be imparted to the students, professors and others through specific and expert courses, workshops and many other related activities. The training will also be given in the areas of project planning, realisation, designing, business-mode development for startups. The forum will also focus on identifying the areas to strengthen in industries.
