With the West Bengal state government all set to conduct the WBJEE 2021 exam on 17th July, the West Bengal state transport department is leaving no stone unturned to ensure candidates appearing in the exam face no inconvenience in shuttling to their respective test centres. Advance letters have also been dispatched to the Eastern and South Eastern Railway to allow the candidates and their guardians to board the local trains on the exam day between 11 AM and 4 PM.
According to a State Transport Department senior official, candidates and their guardians will be allowed to board the staff special trains on the day of the WBJEE 2021 examination so that the candidates do not face any problems. The official also said a special request has been made to the railway authorities to ply more trains on the exam day if required.
Before boarding the train, the candidates have to produce their WBJEE 2021 hall tickets at their respective nearest railway counters and purchase a one-day ticket. Due to the zone-wise distribution of WBJEE 2021 exam centres, the candidates do not have to travel far to be present at their respective exam centres this year.
Earlier, the honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal Smt Mamata Banerjee had announced discounts in the taxi, bus, auto and toto services for the WBJEE candidates.
This year, the WBJEE examination will receive a footfall of 92,695 candidates from Bengal and other states. The examination will be conducted in a total of 274 exam centres. According to a senior official at the WBJEE Board, all the necessary precautions regarding COVID-19 will be taken at the WBJEE exam centres like 4ft to 5ft distance between two students and others.
