The Post-Allotment & Seat Acceptance Process

Candidates who receive an allocation must act quickly, as the window to secure or modify seats is limited. Based on the official WBJEEB business rules, actions depend on your allocation history:

For Fresh Allottees (Allotted a seat for the first time in Round 2)

  • Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee: You must pay an online seat acceptance fee of INR 5,000 via net banking, debit card, or credit card to lock the seat. Failure to complete this payment before the deadline automatically cancels the allotment.
  • Physical Reporting: After downloading the provisional allotment letter, you must visit the assigned institute for mandatory physical document verification.

For Upgraded Candidates (Allotted a seat in Round 1 that changed in Round 2)

  • Verify the New Allotment: If your seat has been upgraded to a higher preference choice, your previous Round 1 seat is automatically vacated and reallocated to another student. You must download your new provisional allotment letter and report to the newly designated college.

Important Caveat: Candidates who were already satisfied with their Round 1 choices and opted against upgradation, or those who were allotted their absolute 1st preference choice in Round 1, do not participate in this round.
