PSEB 12th Exam Pattern 2022-23: Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announces the Punjab Board Class 12 Exam Pattern every year. The pattern is announced on their official website. All the candidates who are going to appear for the board exams must go through the Punjab Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2022-23 which will help them prepare for their board exams. Changes Introduced in PSEB 12th Exam Pattern
Every year, Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) prepares the exam pattern for class 12 depending on the evaluation criteria decided by the board. Each year, the board might or might not bring changes to the exam pattern. However, the board has brought some of the changes this year to the Punjab Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2022-23. Students may check PSEB 12th Timetable 2023. As per the new pattern, there will be variety of questions in the paper including Theory, Practicals, CCE Question types. CCE will be conducted for 10 marks which will be included in the calculation of the overall marks. There will be three groups of subjects for which the board exam will be conducted: the compulsory subjects, the elective subjects and the optional subjects. There has been a 30% reduction in the syllabus for class 12th board exams. Moreover, Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) has also been introduced by PSEB to evaluate a student’s knowledge.
What is CCE?
PSEB has also adopted the quite prevalent assessment scheme known as CCE. It stands for Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation which will be used by the board to assess the knowledge of the students. The following points explain CCE process:
- The CCE process will take into consideration two criteria for evaluation: theory paper will be for 60 marks and 40 marks will be in the hand of schools.
- The 40 marks will be awarded to the students based on their interaction methods, attendance, character, and other factors.
- It is termed as a scientific method of evaluation determined to provide fair evaluation platform to the students.
Why is Punjab Board Board Bringing These Changes?
PSEB board evaluates its exam pattern every year to check the efficiency of marking scheme. Since CBSE and NTA has reduced their class 12th syllabus by 30%, Punjab board has also took the same step to get in line with their syllabus. Moreover, the group of subjects will help the students choose subjects as per their interest of study and will also help them score well in the exam.

PSEB 12th Exam Pattern 2022-23
Let us understand the Punjab Board Class 12 Exam Pattern 2022-23 in detail through the points listed below:
- The exam duration for each paper in 12th board exam will be 3 hours.
- The mode of the paper will be offline and medium will be Hindi, English and Punjabi (except for language papers).
- There will be division of theory, practical, and CCE pattern for each of the subjects.
- The language papers will be conducted for a total of 75 marks out of which 65 marks will be for theory exam and 10 marks will be for CCE. For such papers, the minimum passing marks will be 25.
- Computer Science subject will be conducted for a total of 100 marks out of which 50 marks will be for theory exam, 40 marks will be for practicals and 10 marks will be for CCE. For such papers, the minimum passing marks will be 33.
- Environmental Education subject will be conducted for a total of 50 marks out of which 45 marks will be for theory exam and 5 marks will be for CCE. For such papers, the minimum passing marks will be 17.
- Elective subjects will be conducted for a total of 90 marks out of which 10 marks will be for CCE. For such papers, the minimum passing marks will be 33.
