Being a student of LPU, I think I can provide you with an honest opinion. Though I'm not pursuing my BSc in agriculture, I do have many friends who are pursuing the same. LPU is accredited by ICAR. It is the 1st private university to get accredited by ICAR(Indian Council of Agricultural Research). BSc. Agriculture degree offers a number of avenues for growth. The graduates desirous of specializing may opt for a master’s program. The Undergraduate Degree in BSc. Agriculture consists of few core subjects such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Genetics, Plant Pathology, Land Surveying, Entomology Horticulture, Physiology, Food Science, water resource management, and Animal Products management. A number of subjects such as Economics, Meteorology, Technology, Business, and Production Management are studied in close reference to the subject. A large part of the agriculture programme is based in practice inculcated via field trips, study tours, and projects. A BSc. graduate is expected to master concepts like macro-micro crop planning, Agri-financing and agricultural statistics and use them extensively. LPU is the 1st private university that got approval from ICAR. (i). The School of Agriculture is approved for accreditation for a period of five years with a GPAC of 3.42 (ii) The following degree programmes were approved for accreditations for a period of five years BSc. (Hons.) Agriculture Placement: Students of the School of Agriculture are placed in Dhanuka, HDFC Bank, Reliance retail, Syngenta, Bio Seed, Nestle, Smur Agro, VLCC, Virbac, Sanra organics, and many more. The maximum package offered for in Agri. at LPU is 19.25 LPA and the average package is 3.4 LPA. Scholarships: LPU provides scholarships to all students with good academic records, sports, or extracurricular activities achievement. LPU also helps students in the Education loan facility. Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified from top-ranked universities all over the world. Infrastructure: All the facilities are available on the campus itself, a student does not need to go outside for anything. On the campus, Central Library, Hospital facility is available 24*7 for staff and students, Shopping mall, Indoor Sports Stadium with 3 Olympic size Swimming Pools, Public/Private Sector Banks, ATM, etc. Ranking: 1. For Focus on Affordable and clean energy, LPU has 1st rank in India 2. For Decent Work and Economic Growth, LPU has 2nd rank in India 3. Ranked 62 Universities in India 4. Ranked 37 business management schools in India 5. Student from NIOS board can apply for admission in LPU but student have to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the course to take admission. LPU is the first private university approved by ICAR you should pursue agriculture degree from LPU. LPU ranks 23rd amongst government and private university of India as per the times higher education world ranking 2023. Eligibility Criteria Of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture is Qualifying LPUNEST and Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 or Intermediate (with English*, Physics, Chemistry and Maths or Biology or Forestry) (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) The minimum age to take admission in B.Sc.
