BA clinical psychology : I want to take up clinical psychology in BA. Where do I find a good college offering this course?

The BA Psychology Hons is the undergraduate degree in Psychology awarded by universities and conservatories which studies psychology at a high level. The course combines the study of Psychology commonly associated with the scientific study of the Mind and Behavior. Psychology is involved in studying and understanding mental processes, brain functions, and behaviour concepts of the human mind. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with the Honors course is the application of Psychological ideas and methodologies and challenges The program that deals with the study of mental behaviour and the functions of human beings. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Honors offers candidates to set up a career in various areas of Academic Institutions, Government Organizations, Mental Health Centers, Recruitment Advertising Industry, Child/Youth Guidance Centers, Vocational Offices, Educational Programs, Research Centers, Rehabilitation, etc. The eligibility at LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)

At LPU the Clinical Psychology programme seeks to provide a practical exposure to the clinical setting with main emphasis upon internships and application of various psychological techniques used all over. The eligibility is Pass with 50% aggregate marks in Bachelor’s Degree (with Psychology) or Bachelor’s Degree (any discipline) with Psychology as one of the subjects or equivalent. (5% relaxation to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants) (10% relaxation to outstanding Sports Persons (i.e. A/A+ category as per Sports Scholarship), Subject to verification from Selection committee* of the University) In case the applicant falls in both categories, then only one relaxation in eligibility will be given. * Selection committee comprises Head (DSW), Director Sports, Dy. Director Sports, Concerned Coach and VC Nominee. The has Industry Interface Tie-ups with industry content delivery by industry experts Projects in collaboration with industry Internships to engage deeply in hands-on real-life situations Undergraduate Research: A student can avail an option of undergraduate research to go beyond the obvious. The Student going for the research option will have to study four courses as Open Minor or Generic elective courses and the final year Capstone project of the UnderGraduate will also be associated with the research options. Highest salary LPU students received was 9.2 lpa this year.

The LPUs psychology programs seek to provide the understanding and the answers to the complexity of human behaviour with a broad focus on Psychological Testing, Psychopathology, Health Psychology, Positive Psychology, Organisational Behaviour, etc. The course seeks to create in students a better understanding of intrapersonal issues and interpersonal behaviour. The student should Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the major theoretical perspectives and principles across various fields of psychology. The course aims at making the student apply critical and creative thinking, sceptical inquiry, and a scientific approach to mitigate problems related to different psychological issues and demonstrate counselling skills aimed at behaviour modification. He should be able to effectively write and present case histories of people with psychological issues and apply different assessment tools to assess various aspects of behaviour including personality, intelligence, and other mental abilities. Highest salary offered to LPU students was 10.7 lpa this year.
