LPU offers B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology and duration of this course is 3 years including 6 semesters. The programme is capable of opening new opportunities especially for the students who wish to pursue a higher degree in the field of economics as it includes the subjects of economics starting from basics to the advanced one including the course on econometrics which is high in demand. There is 5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants. At LPU this is a four-semester program, to enable graduate students to pursue doctoral studies or professional employment, through imparting in-depth knowledge in specific domains of Microbiology along with a three-semester independent research project leading to a dissertation to harness the flair of research. This program at LPU: Demonstrate the ability to work in interdisciplinary areas of microbiology for industrial and academic research applications. Comprehend, analyze, estimate and solve biological problems through applications of food microbiology, virology, microbial physiology, genetic engineering, fermentation technology, and medical microbiology. Identify societal microbiological problems and propose solutions through explorative research by validation and scientific experimentation.
