Dear Student,

This Marine Engineering branch has been designed to train candidates to perform technical and instrumental tasks on Merchant Navy ships. At the end of the course, successful candidates are awarded the Class 4 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency. This certificate is awarded by the Ministry of Shipping, India. Please note that this certificate is provided only after a candidate completes 6 months of sea service.

Scope of the Programme:

Once this Certificate of Competency is obtained, candidates may don the role of a Marine Engineer on Merchant Navy ships in any part of the World! Apart from theoretical knowledge, when it comes to Marine Engineering, lots of emphasis is also laid on practical training and know-how. That is why B.E./B.Tech. Marine Engineering program is a residential program!
