Food and Technology involves techniques and processes that are used to transform raw materials into food. Extensive research goes behind making food items edible as well as nutritious. As deep as we go into the dimensions of food technology, we require professionals in this field. And, this has led to the emergence of food technology courses. The eligibility is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry & Maths / Biology/ Biotechnology /Food Processing as vocational subject + LPUNEST) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST or CUET There are a plethora of opportunities for students who wish to pursue a course in food technology. Graduates or postgraduates in the course can seek jobs in different domains such as restaurants, catering establishments, hospitals, food processing companies, etc. This program at LPU is designed for Constructing strong basic foundation in concepts of food processing and preservation, thus crafting skillful and notion ready food experts for addressing the malnutrition and food security challenges LPU is having Tie ups with industry for-Content delivery by industry experts -Projects in collaboration with industry -Internships to engage deeply in hands-on real-life situations. Industry certifications, MOOCs, Hackathons / Co-curricular Competitive events, Workshops, Guest lectures, Educational Trips, Live projects, Incubation projects, Community projects, projects with NGOs etc. Are an integral part of the curriculum. Dear student,

Food Science is the study of the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food; and the concepts underlying food processing. On the other hand, Food Technology is a branch of food science that deals with the production processes that make foods. Early scientific research into food technology concentrated on food preservation.

Having said that you should know that Food Technology is a B. Tech course, while Food Science is a B. Sc course. So ultimately, what is comes down to is your educational background and your interest in the subject. For your understanding, please go through the difference between Food Technology & Food Science so that you can make an informed decision. Good luck!
