Gate score : I got 7,511 rank in my gate exam , branch is electrical and electronics, is there any use of this rank either getting admission in m.tech or for in any job

7,511 rank in GATe is not enough to get admission in either of the IITs, IIITs or NITs. Most of these colleges close admission within the first 2,000 to 3,000 GATE rankers. On the other hand, PSUs that hire students through GATE ranks only recruit the top 150 to 200 rankers of the exam.

There is a scope of getting admission in some of the decent private colleges. However, if you aspire to continue in this field, it is advisable that you pursue M.Tech or ME only from one of the top institutes to secure your future. You can appear for GATE exam in 2018 if you start preparing now. Get a job and prepare for the exam alongside it.

If you are open to other options, you can consider applying for fields like IT, banking, and appear for open exams basis which PSUs like BEL, BSNL recruit candidates.
