Hello Shakshi,
The main goal of learning concepts is to apply them in solving problem of all level; easy, moderate and tough. and for this, you need to practice as many different types of problem you get your hands on, in the limited time assigned to this subject. I can suggest you the D C Pandey’s objective physics problem books. It has very good selection of problem and some of the problems will really test your concept; which is good.
Most of the time while solving problems, you will get stuck many times initially and you will have to go back again to theory. But there are no shortcuts. IIT plays around basic concepts, therefore you will have to work a lot on your concepts to get a good score in Physics or any other subject.
There is no such weightage that has been allocated to chapters that will be asked in the exam. The paper will be a mixed balance of all the branches of Physics, be it mechanics, optics, electronics, electromagnetism, etc. Work on your concepts and practice last year questions, they will definitely help you to get through the exam.
All the best!
