LAW QUERY : Hey i am graduating this year and pursuing my company secretary course i wanted to ask whether i should go for llb with cs or after completing cs and whether if i drop my cs or will not be able to do it ..is there any scope of doing llb and can i get into the corporate world or practicing is the only thing left for me??

It mostly depends on your priorities and the kind of job you want to do. As far as corporate jobs are concerned, after pursuing LLB also there is scope for working in corperate firms. there are specialization in LLB like corporate LLB courses that have great job opportunities as well.

There are various exams that you have to qualify in order to becom a Company secretry by joining the course whereas LLB is a full time course. You can do both parallely if you can manage the study load.

Whereas if you want to pursue one of it the you will have to decide which course you value more. Following are the roles of a CS and a Lawyer: 

  • Company Secretry: Company Secretary is a person who's responsibility is to guarantee that the company meets the legal obligations.
  • Lawyer: The lawyers assist people by being in lieu of them on legal matters. They sometimes do the same job for corporate houses as well
