Colleges affiliated to government universities like FMS – University of Delhi, NIMT Institute of Management – Rajasthan Technical University, etc. offer MBA courses at the end of which students are awarded a degree. However, AICTE approved PGDM course is offered by autonomous colleges such as IIMs, XLRI, NMIMS, MDI, etc. at the end of which students are awarded a diploma.

Both the type of courses have their own advantages and disadvantages.

• PGDM courses are more updated and flexible whereas MBA programmes are less flexible and are not very up-to-date.
• PGDM also focuses on industry and job-based development whereas MBA focuses on theoretical education.
• However, PGDM is an expensive course while MBA is a relatively cheaper programme.
