Dear student, you can take admission in B Tech Mechanical through lateral entry. Just register yourself at LPU and appear for LPUNEST. At LPU B Tech Mechanical is an Engineering Programme which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal etc specialization. Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) 3 years after 10th Or 2 years after 10+2 (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) Or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPUNEST. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates or Defence Personnel and their Dependents or Wards of Kashmiri Migrants)

Dear student,

You can opt for something known as a Lateral Entry. There are engineering colleges that give admission to second year directly, if you have done a Diploma in Engineering. Some institutes conduct an exam for Lateral Entry, while some colleges give admission directly. You can make a list of all colleges giving Lateral entry admission in Mechanical and then search for their admission process or give one of these exams, and basis your score, then apply to colleges.

Some of the Lateral Entry exams in India include:

Good luck!
