What are admission process for post basic B.Sc. Nursing

Dear Student,

Candidates must meet the following criteria set by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) to be eligible for admission to a Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programme.

  • Senior Secondary School Certificate / Class 12th / (10 + 2 ) from a recognized board. OR Class 11th / (10 + 1), if done in or before 1986.
  • Certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.). OR Registration as an R.N.R.M. with the State Nursing Registration Council OR INC-approved training in O.T. Techniques / Ophthalmic Nursing / Leprosy Nursing / TB Nursing / Psychiatric Nursing / Neurological and Neuro-surgical Nursing / Community Health Nursing / Cancer Nursing / Orthopedic Nursing

Admissions are done on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in the General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.) programme. Depending on the college of application, a candidate may also be required to take an entrance exam for admission.
