At what age can I apply for the school of avaition?

Dear student,

There are various career options in the field of Aviation. The most common one, of course, is Pilot Training. If you wish to become a Commercial Pilot, you will have to pass 3 basic license courses namley, Student pilot License, Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License. The eligibility for this is:

  • Higher Secondary pass (Class XII) in Science with Mathematics & Physics as core subjects
  • Minimum 16 years of age

Besides the above, you can enrol in the following courses:

Air Traffic Controller (ATC)

  • Eligibility: B-Tech in Electronics / Telecommunication or Radio Engineering with minimum first class  
  • Selection Process: Through ATC entrance examination, Voice test, Personal Interview, Medical fitness test and further training

Engineer

Eligibility:

  • B-Tech / B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering/ Aerospace Engineering/ B-Tech in Avionics 
  • Class 12 pass in Science with minimum 50% marks individually for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • Entrance exams at national/ state/ institute level

Airworthiness Engineer

  • Eligibility: B-Tech in Aeronautical / Aerospace Engineering / Avionics or Electronics & Communication Engineering 

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)

You need a B.E degree in AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering) or Diploma in AME with DGCA Approval

Eligibility:

  • Class 12 pass in Science with Physics and Mathematics aggregate 50% marks or
  • Diploma in any branch of engineering with aggregate 50% marks
