The QS World University Rankings 2022 released on June 8, 2021, features the top 1,300 universities from 80 different locations across the world. While the Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) has retained its top spot for the tenth consecutive year, the University of Oxford climbed from the 5th in the 2021 edition to 2nd in the 2022 edition.
QS University Ranking assessed and considered for inclusion, thousands of universities according to six metrics including academic reputation (40%), faculty/student ratio (20%), international faculty ratio (5%), international student ratio (5%), citations per faculty (20%) and employer reputation (10%).

QS, short for Quacquarelli Symonds, is a British company and career and education network that evaluates higher education providers from around the world.
This is the 18th edition of the QS World University Rankings, which is, with no doubt, the world’s most significant and most-covered source of information about the performance of universities from across the globe.
The United States is home to the most number of universities ranked on the list, with a total of 177 universities, including 19 new entries this year.
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the only university to have earned a perfect overall score of 100.
