Released on June 10, 2020, the QS World University Rankings 2021 features the top 1,000 universities from 80 different locations across the world. While the Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) has retained its top spot for the ninth consecutive year, a total of 26 Asian universities have also made it to top 100, more than ever before.
More than 5,500 universities were assessed and considered for inclusion according to six metrics including academic reputation (40%), faculty/student ratio (20%), international faculty ratio (5%), international student ratio (5%), citations per faculty (20%) and employer reputation (10%).
Highlights of QS World University Rankings 2021

QS, short for Quacquarelli Symonds, is a British company and career and education network that evaluates higher education providers from around the world.

This is the 17th edition of the QS World University Rankings, which is, with no doubt, the world’s most significant and most-covered source of information about the performance of universities from across the globe.

The United States is home to the most number of universities ranked on the list, with a total of 151 universities.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is the only university to have earned a perfect overall score of 100.
