Is there any academic qualification required for GMAT?
According to the official exam administrator for GMAT, applicants need not present any academic requirements in order to register for the test. However, there are other application requirements that all GMAT aspirants must abide by before registering for the test.
Do I need a Bachelor's degree to appear for GMAT?
No, candidates are not required to present any academic qualifications like having a bachelor’s degree to attempt the GMAT exam. However, since the GMAT score is specifically used for MBA or graduate management admissions abroad, it is sensible to first obtain a bachelor's degree before attempting the test.
Can I register for GMAT 24 hours before the test date?
According to current GMAC exam policies for GMAT, all aspirants have the option to register for the test 24 hours prior to the scheduled test date and time. However, it should be noted that this option is limited to those applying for GMAT via either the Online mode or the Phone. It is advisable to register for the GMAT until the last minute to avoid unnecessary hassles.
Can I retake the GMAT if I have achieved a total score of 600?
The answer to the question of whether to retake GMAT exams lies completely with you. If you are unsatisfied with your results or your desired university does not offer admission with a 600 GMAT score, then, Yes! The logical solution here will be to enhance your preparation strategy and attempt the test again to obtain a better score on the GMAT exam.
How many days do I need to wait to take the GMAT again?
As per official GMAC exam policies, any candidate interested in retaking the GMAT test must wait 16 days after attempting the previous GMAT exam before registering for the attempt again. If you earned a perfect score of 800 on the test, you will be asked to wait the entire validity period of the GMAT exam, i.e. 5 years, before you are allowed to retake the test again.
Who needs parental consent for GMAT?
GMAC exam policies dictate that any candidate, who, at the time of registering for the test comes within the age group of 13-17 years of age is required to submit a Parental Consent form signed by either the parents or a legal guardian. This should be accompanied by written proof of consent before scheduling the test.
Is there any limit to the number of times I can take the GMAT?
As per policies, any candidate can attempt a GMAT exam a total of 5 times in a rolling period of 12 months or an aggregate of 8 times in their entire life. These include both the GMAT test and GMAT Online test. However, these exclude GMAT Online tests taken between April 20, 2020, and September 22, 2022.
Is there any upper age limit for GMAT?
As specified by the GMAT exam policies, while the official exam administrator has specified a lower age limit for the test, there is no upper age limit for GMAT exams. However, if you are attempting the GMAT test while being under the age of 18, you will need to submit a Parental Consent form before scheduling a test date.
Is there a work experience requirement for GMAT?
No, there is no work experience requirement to attempt the GMAT exam. However, GMAT exams are primarily needed for MBA admissions abroad and additional MBA admissions abroad require applicants to present valid work experience in the relevant area of expertise. So, having work experience at the time of applying GMAT can be beneficial for MBA aspirants.
Does GMAT offer special considerations for students with disabilities?
Yes, GMAC offers special considerations for candidates with disabilities and offers separate accommodations for test-takers with disabilities to appear for the GMAT exam. However, to avail of the same, candidates must first submit the relevant documents for their disability. Please refer to the required documentation as outlined by GMAC, that needs to be submitted.
