The SAT Results or Scores are announced by the College Board. The Board announces the multiple-choice scores and the SAT Essay scores on different dates. Students awaiting their results can access their results, which are usually declared within one or two weeks after the test day, Within 10 days of receiving the scores, the Board sends the scores to selected colleges. Some of the popular colleges that accept SAT scores are Georgia Institute of Technology, Florida State University, University of Florida, University of Central Florida, University of Georgia etc.   

Most colleges require students to send in their SAT scores directly from the College Board. Candidates can send four free score reports to colleges each time they register for the test, in other words, no additional fee is required. How to Access SAT Scores?

Follow the steps given below to access you SAT 2021 scores.

To get the SAT 2021 scores online:

  • Visit the official website of the College Board and log in with your Student ID and Password for the SATs.

  • Follow the instructions to verify the account by using your registration number from the SAT test.

  • Click on the “View Details” CTA.

  • Click on “Download Report” and view your SAT results. You are advised to take a printout of the 2021 SAT Results.

Note: The College Board has directed the students to use a desktop only.

Other ways to Get SAT scores are as follows:

  • Students who register by mail will be sent paper score reports.

  • Students can get their SAT scores by phone after paying an extra fee.

  • Students can also access or request old SAT scores by paying an extra fee.

How is SAT Score Calculated?

Types of SAT Scores

The SAT Scores are released in the following format: 

  • Total Scores: The total score is the sum of the score of the two section and the range lies between 400 -1600.

  • Section Scores: Section Scores lie in the range of 200 - 800 for each of two sections, i.e. the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Mathematics.

  • Test Scores: The range for Reading, Writing & Language and the Math Test scores lies around 10 - 40.

  • Cross-Test Scores: These scores depict performance on certain questions in any of the three tests with a range lying between 10 - 40. 

  • Sub Scores: Sub-Scores usually lie in the range of 1-15 and are based on skill areas like Command over Evidence, Words in Context, Expression of Ideas, etc.

  • SAT Essay Scores (if taken): Till date, the scores for the optional SAT Essay ranges between 2-8. (Note: SAT Subject Tests and Essay Component of the test has been scrapped from 2021)

How to Send SAT Scores to Institutes ?

If you want to send the scores before they are released, then you can send four free score reports to the colleges of your choice, every time you register for the test. However, if you want to send the scores after they are released, you would be required to pay a fee.

You can send the SAT scores using the following tmethods:

  • Online - Sign in to your College Board Account and follow the instructions to send it.

  • Send it by mail - Here, you have to complete and mail the Additional Score Report Order Form, which is available on the College Board website.

  • Send it by Phone - Call the Customer Service at 212-713-7789 (international).
