TOEFL Late Registration Fee

It is not uncommon for ETS to release all the TOEFL registration dates well in advance. ETS grants a grace period after the original TOEFL registration dates, knowing that there may be delays and ignorance on the part of test-takers. There is, however, a penalty associated with this grace period.

An additional charge of USD 40 or approximately INR 3,193 must be paid by test takers who register for the exam after the grace period has ended.

TOEFL Cancellation Fee

ETS provides all TOEFL test takers with the option to withdraw or cancel their registration if they change their minds about taking the test. Test takers can cancel their TOEFL registration using their user credentials. The authority does not impose an additional fee in the event of a cancellation, and the test taker receives a refund.

50% of the actual TOEFL exam fee that was paid to register for the test is obtainable as a refund. The authority keeps the remaining 50% amount as a payout for handling the first registration and allocating a seat.

TOEFL Rescheduling Fee

In the event that a test taker wants to postpone or reschedule the TOEFL exam, they can do so by logging into their account on the official website of the TOEFL. However, if this does not work, candidates can also phone authority to reschedule or postpone their test.

Needless to say, TOEFL rescheduling incurs an extra cost since the authority must execute the registration again and assign the applicant to a different seat. The cost of the TOEFL exam rescheduling is USD 60 or INR 4,782.

TOEFL Score Reinstatement Fee

Candidates have the choice to either cancel their TOEFL scores after taking the test or decide not to send the results to a specific institution. This decision is subject to change as the test takers have the option of having their cancelled results reinstated. However, ETS charges the test taker for this service since it needs to search through its databases and regenerate the results.

Test takers must determine whether to reinstate their TOEFL score within a period of 60 days after taking the test date. For example, if a candidate took the test on July 15 but cancelled the scores that were supposed to be sent on July 28, they could ask for the scores to be reinstated up until August 30. After the score reinstatement cost has been paid, the authority processes the request in roughly three weeks. The TOEFL exam fees in India for score reinstatement is approximately INR 1,594.

TOEFL Score Review Fee

After submitting their scores, ETS allows test takers the opportunity to check their results for particular or defined sections. The test-takers must pay the authority USD 80 or nearly INR 6,378 for the same. Since there is a fee for the TOEFL exam score review for each section, if the request is made to review two sections, the surpassed fee will be charged twice i.e., USD 160 or approximately INR 12,757. Only if the sending scores request has not been made, the TOEFL score review service is accessible for the TOEFL Speaking and TOEFL Writing sections. In addition, the review request needs to be submitted 30 days after the test was taken.

TOEFL Additional Score Reports Fee 2023

Additionally, ETS enables test-takers to send their results directly to a limited number of colleges or universities. The service is free for up to four preferences, but if the applicant wants to send their TOEFL score reports to more than four institutions, they should make a request and pay an additional fee as required. The TOEFL result is valid for up to two years. However, during this validity period, test takers may also make a request for additional score reports. TOEFL Exam Fee Payment Methods

TOEFL exam fee in India can be paid to ETS through one of the following methods:

• Credit or Debit Card: Credit or debit cards allows international students to make payments in their local currencies as contrary to US dollars. American Express, JCB, American Express, Mastercard, Diners Club, China Union Pay, Discover, and VISA are among the credit cards that can be used to pay TOEFL exam fees in India. 

• E-check: E-checks, often known as electronic checks, represent a type of payment that allows the drawer to make a one-time withdrawal from a checking or savings account. The bank must be located in one of the following: Canada, the US, Puerto Rico, or the US Virgin Islands. For the purpose of making money withdrawals simple, ETS requires test takers to provide their bank account number and transit number (ABA number). 

• PayPal: A computerised platform called PayPal enables transactions involving bank accounts for international students. The candidate only needs to link their bank account and register as a user on the official website of PayPal.

• Money Order: ETS accepts money orders or paper cheques as payment as long as it is not older than 90 days when they are received by the authority. The cheque must mandatorily be drawn in US dollars. The details that may be printed on a cheque by the authorities are the payer's contact information, name, bank name, bank address, and cheque code.

TOEFL Exam Fee Payment and Refund Policies

The TOEFL exam fee in India is refundable in case of unforeseen situations, however, there are ETS policies that must be followed in order to qualify for this reimbursement. It should be noted that only the registration cost for the TOEFL exam is subject to refunds in this case. The following are ETS's refund rules for the TOEFL exam fee in India:

The refund policies of ETS regarding the exam fee for TOEFL are as follows:

• The applicant must have made all the required payments in a timely manner. Also, the required signatures and other information must be filled out completely and accurately.

• If any applicant needs to cancel their registration, 50% of the registration fee is reimbursed as long as they do it at least four days before the scheduled test date.

• Candidates may ask for a refund if ETS cancels the exam on test day but they do not want to reschedule. Candidates who paid the TOEFL exam fee at the time of enrollment will receive a complete refund.

• In the event that ETS cancels the exam and the candidate incurred any justifiable travel expenses, reimbursement of such expenses may be claimed within 30 days.

• ETS will refund the money in the same currency when the registration was made.

• In the case of a money order, the refund processing time may be affected by the method of payment used for the TOEFL exam registration fee. 

• Refunds of TOEFL exam fees will be credited to candidates' bank accounts if they provided bank details during their original payment process.
