As per the statistics produced by education marketing experts in Australia, the country's sector will achieve pre-pandemic enrolment levels in the next 18 months.

Australia's Higher Education Sector on Track for a 'Full Recovery'

As part of a major data roundup, Studymove analysed data across numerous topics and found that knowing the new global environment in 2022 is crucial for boosting revenue and successfully executing recruiting plans in the coming year.

According to Keri Ramirez, managing director of Studymove, education providers were concerned that a delayed opening of international borders might have long-term repercussions on involvement with foreign applicants, but this does not appear to be the case thus far.

Studymove presented statistics showing that, while there was a large decline in the number of main student visa holders in the second half of 2021 from 307,954 to 254,915 the number has already rebounded significantly, with over 280,000 holders in the nation as of February 21. The end of the month was anticipated to have 286,723 people.

However, this figure is up over 5,000 from the fourth quarter of 2020, which is encouraging. Breaking down markets, China has echoed the broader rebound per constantly up 43%on 2020 figures.

India, in particular, is obviously a market where Australia has lost ground, and it would be fascinating to observe how education providers re-engage with the nation in the coming months, he said.

This relates to a YTD decrease of 27% in student visa applications from India.

According to the research, another factor influencing the industry is the decline of offered programmes.

The number of programmes accessible in 2020 was 6,611 this has now fallen by about 300 programmes, with 6,350 available in 2021 - 28 institutions eliminated part of their programmes during the year.

Scholarship availability appears to be mostly unchanged in 2022 compared to 2021, suggesting that they will continue to play a significant role in student involvement.

He went on to say that the sector's biggest difficulty now is figuring out how to establish the correct combination of direct and digital ads to effectively recruit candidates.

Studymove suggests closely tracking the number of student visa numbers for each market as the Australian industry continues through 2022 to successfully estimate future actions.

Ramirez also stated that the world has changed dramatically in the last two years, and institutions must actively monitor what has changed, where there is demand, and how candidates are changing or not altering their preferences.
