Rise in International Student’s Enrollment in Canada, UK and US Despite Covid-19 Pandemic - Survey

Canada, UK, and USA see significant growth in international students enrollment in 2021 despite the Covid-19 pandemic. India and Nigeria are two major countries from where students have applied for admissions abroad.

New research by the Mitchell Institute at Victoria University shows that the number of international students is heading to the USA, Canada, and the UK in record numbers despite the Covid-19 pandemic. While these countries are experiencing a higher number of international student admissions, Australia and New Zealand have seen a significant drop in the international applications.

As per the records, the major study abroad destinations had experienced a fall in international students enrollment after the outbreak of the first wave of pandemic. But now that the countries have removed restrictions on international travel, more students are willing to travel abroad for higher education.

According to the survey, students from China are still applying in lesser numbers than what was pre-pandemic but for India and Nigeria, the numbers are at record levels.
