Canada's Student Visa Success Rate Finally Improves After 2 Years of Constant Rejection

The rejection rate for student visa applications to Canada has reached an all-time high in the last two years. Starting with a rejection rate for Canada students visas of roughly 35% in 2019 at the start of Covid-19, it dropped to 60% in 2022.

Some students had to wait for 8 to 10 months, sometimes even longer. However, there has been a small but steady improvement in the rejection rate of Canadian student visas.

The approval of student visas for candidates with a three-year gap has increased in recent weeks. According to consultants, this significant improvement is due to the fact that, when Canada had a high rejection rate, students applied to other countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia.

Because of its high-quality education, fair visa and immigration policies, and better living chances, Canada is a popular destination for international students. However, due to a large number of applicants, obtaining a visa becomes difficult. This rejection did not come as a surprise.

According to the report, several Indian students, especially Punjabis, enrol in Montreal colleges (Quebec Province). During the pandemic, the pattern continued. However, during the pandemic, the government identified 10 colleges for scrutiny due to the high admittance rate of international students.

As a result of the high rejection rate, only 40% of student applications were accepted. However, there had been a slight improvement, and the acceptance rate had risen to 50 to 60%.

One of the reasons a student visa application may be denied is a lack of financial stability, which will prevent the student from being able to support themselves while studying in Canada. A lack of academic credits or scores as specified by the educational institution and the Canadian government in order to obtain visa permission. Other causes include a missing Letter of Acceptance, a lower-than-acceptable IELTS or TOEFL score, or insufficient documentation.
