LanguageCert’s Advisory Council Chair predicts a future where online secure testing becomes a norm. With the rapid turnaround of test results, online secure testing may soon become normal. He also added that the testing processes conducted at home may replace test centres as well.

While COVID-19 has brought forth an increasing number of restrictions and unfortunate circumstances across different regions of the world, many new advances in technology and medicine have been taking place across the globe as well.

Among these changes, people are starting to witness a dependence on Online Secure Exams, which are becoming more popular due to travel restrictions laid down due to coronavirus. The Advisory Council Chair at LanguageCert, Roger Johnson, commented that this might soon become a norm in the future as well.

During a PIE webinar, Delegates were presented services and role of the LanguageCert’s Secure English Language Test (SELT). In the webinar, the panellists went on to display the role of the services “... as a UK Home Office-approved SELT provider” as well.

Roger Johnson further specified the advantages of using Online Secure Exams, mentioning benefits such as quick turnarounds for test results and meeting the current demands for testing purposes during COVID-19 restrictions.

Johnson added that the Online Secure Exams will and, in fact, have become a popular and common mode for testing. Due to the current pandemic, online testing processes have sparked an interest in test and exam providers. Such providers who previously did not have a solution regarding the provision of online testing, now suddenly realise that a solution for the same is needed.

Further advocating the use of Online Secure Tests, Johnson also claims a future where it will become the new norm.

During the webinar, the processes of LanguageCert’s SELT services were explained to the delegates. As per sources, candidates will be asked to visit respective test centres where the self-tests will be conducted online. Sources claim SELT exams will be useful for Visa purposes and presently are accepted by UK-VI.

Johnson further claims that the Online Secure Tests include swift turnaround times for test results. Candidates will be able to access provisional test results within a few minutes of attempting the test. Meanwhile, the official test results will be provided to the candidates within 3 business days.

Further building on the future of Online Secure Testing, Johnson added that even though students are expected to visit specific test centres, tests at home may become a topic of discussion in the future.

Concluding his speech, Johnson raised questions regarding the specificity of when authorities will feel comfortable in conducting such highly-secure tests at a home or office environment, instead of a candidate having to visit a test centre.

With the need for online testing increasing by the year, Johnson further stated that people will expect to be able to take such tests in the comfort of their homes or office. To meet such demands, the providers may also look into the possibility of such a provision.
