A Canadian government source reported that the government will scrap its Covid-19 vaccination requirement by the end of the month on September 30, 2022. The cabinet is yet to finalise the changes on arrival by air, water or land.
As per the existing rules, foreign nationals are required to be vaccinated to enter Canada. Also, the ones who are not vaccinated require to pass the mandatory tests upon arrival and remain in quarantine for 14 days before entering the country.

The country is also likely to drop random coronavirus testing on the same day. It is also supposed to make use of the ArriveCAN app optional where travellers are mandated to upload their vaccination details.
The airports in Canada suffered chaos and confusion over the summer, with many cancellations and delays and some blamed the strict Covid-19 restrictions for it.
The source also claimed that the decisions will be taken based on science, facts and recommendations of the experts and they will be shared when it is time to make them.
The US requires all travellers to be vaccinated and it is not known whether it will walk on similar lines as Canada. On the other hand, in the UK entrants do not require to fill out the passenger locator form or take the Covid-19 test.

Dr Andrew Morris, an infectious disease expert said that the vaccine requirement should have been dropped long back as it does not help prevent the spreading of the disease or cases.
